Participants must bring their own puzzles (3x3 Rubik’s cube) for the competition.
Puzzles must be clean, and must not have any markings, elevated pieces, damage or other differences that significantly distinguish any piece from a similar piece.
All solves will be timed.
Once jumbled by a volunteer, the participant will be given 10 seconds to analyze the cube before they start solving.
Participants will be required to solve the puzzle twice.
The average time of the 2 will be considered to determine the winner.
If 2 or more participants have the same average time, there will be a tie-breaker round.
In the event of a tie, each participant will perform one additional solve and the participant with the fastest solve time will be declared the winner.
While competing, competitors must not use any electronics or audio equipment (e.g. cell phones, MP3 players, Dictaphones, additional lighting).
